Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis

A Message from Our Central Leadership Team

Welcome to the website of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis. We wish you peace and all good.

Saints Francis and Clare believed deeply in community. We hope you will feel a part of our community as you read through our efforts for society, church, and world.

In 2016, Women’s Religious Congregations became familiar with the African term “Ubuntu.”  This is a very sacred phrase which means “I am because we are, and we are because I am.” This speaks to the Franciscan concept of community.  We truly believe that we are because you are.  Our interconnectedness throughout the years in whatever efforts you have made, helps to make us who we are.  It also means respect for differences: perspectives, religions, etc.

We pray that you will join us as we continue to try to bring kindness into our world.
