Prayer for Advent

Jesus, we remember how the world waited for your coming long ago, and how our ancestors in faith offered each generation new hope of the coming Messiah.  We remember how you came, in poverty, in love, in fragility, as an infant totally dependent on Mary and Joseph for your very life.  We remember St. Francis who, being so filled with God’s incarnate love on that Bethlehem night, re-lived it again in the cave at Greccio.   Jesus, during this holy season of Advent, we remember.
