Ohio Sisters and Associates Enjoy Labor Day Fun
The sisters and associates in Ohio celebrated their "First Annual Corn Hole Tournament and Cookout" on Labor Day, September 3, 2018. All activities took place in St. Joseph Hall, Marymount Congregational Home.
The tournament day began with the traditional Pledge of Allegiance and song followed by some teams trying their best to dunk their beanbags into the "corn hole." Teams were created so sisters/associates matched for throwing abilities — wheelchairs with wheelchairs, walkers with walkers, etc. Cheering squads were seated around the room and it was a noisy fun time. At the end of the tournament, each participant received a certificate of honorable mention as well as a Butterfinger candy bar. The two winners received a larger certificate and a candy bar named "100 Grand."
The day ended with song "God Bless America" and "Let There Be Peace on Earth." This celebration will be repeated annually and the sisters/associates look forward to next year!
