Welcome and thank you for visiting the Vocation and Discernment section of The Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis website. It is my deep hope that the information provided here will enrich your discernment journey or at least help you begin the journey to look into this wonderful and exciting lifestyle of vowed consecrated life.
My role as the vocation minister is to be present to you, the discerner, in whatever way you need as you listen to the way or ways God is moving in your life. No two call stories are the same. God calls us in different ways. So, with my personal gifts of deep listening and the sharing of faith stories, I begin to ask the questions that will take you deeper into your discernment. It is in this sharing, much like the disciples on the walk to Emmaus, that together we share this call to see if perhaps you are being called to live the life of a religious.
During the initial phase of discernment I encourage you to search out the answers to three primary questions:
- Are you called to be a religious sister?
- Are you called to be a Franciscan vowed religious sister?
- Are you called to be a Sister of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis?
Together, with the help of the Holy Spirit, moving through this process of discernment, you will have a more secure and better sense of your readiness to move forward in the call you may be hearing.
At any time during your time with these pages, feel free to contact me at the email listed. I would be delighted to help answer any questions or concerns you would have regarding your call to religious life.
